Yes! Old appliances, such as AC units, can contain refrigerant, which can be an ozone depleting gas. There are businesses out there that will cut refrigerant lines and release this into the atmosphere so they can scrap the metal. At Tin Man, we will recover that refrigerant and dispose of it properly, adhering to all EPA requirements.

At our public scrap recycling facility, we can pay cash for most goods, or by check if preferred. For aluminum/copper radiators, by law we must pay by check. For HVAC recycling, our invoice cycle is weekly and we will cut a check the following week for your pick-ups.
